With the week set aside for cup matches, just 2 league matches were played affecting the top of the 1st & 4th Divisions.

Brixham Sharks’ 6-4 win over NA Batmen puts them level on points at the top of the 1st Division with Torbay Academy I, whilst Batmen remain in 3rd place. Stam Kioufis was not going to lose a singles so it was down to Jazmin Johns and Adam Shipway to collect the extra points for victory. Shipway’s win over Nick Halse clinched the match for the Sharks. Kioufis was beaten when paired with Shipway in the final Doubles by Dennis Gibbs & Nick Halse.

Torbay Academy IV went back to the top of the 4th Division with a narrow 6-4 victory over Torre Nadoes; Karol Lapa’s maximum saw the Academy side home, and they now lead the 4th Division by just one point over NA Falcons.

The Dyment Doubles took centre stage this week with the holders, Torbay Academy I, starting very strongly by defeating Brixham Trawlers 5-0.  Two Newton Abbot teams also started well with 5-0 wins: Hawks defeating Hasbeens and the Falcons winning at Battlers.  Dawlish Diamonds had a great battle with Marldon, coming back from 3-1 down to take the tie 5-3, 5 of the 8 sets went to a 5th game decider.
