Stocksbridge ‘A’s reigning Sheffield singles champion Jack Grant passed a stern test in the top flight during the recent visit of Abbeydale ‘A’. He posted a hat trick of wins over Steve Mason, Jamie Smith and narrowly eclipsed Andy Henry in a set which went the distance. The hosts prevailed 6-4 with additional contributions from Simon Pugh (2) and Darren Lindley’s win over Steve Mason.

Unbeaten Abbeydale ‘H’ claimed both points on a trip to High Green ‘A’ as Brian Allen and Brian Armitage both went undefeated during an 8-2 victory in Division Four.

Hallam Grange ‘E’ lies in second place in Division Six and they made short work of Tapton Hill ‘B’ thanks largely to a treble and a share of the doubles from new signing Sangdo Park. Nigel Repper and Roger Arkell both weighed in with braces for Hallam as Tapton’s  Dennis Slater and Joe Barker took one set each in an 8-2 loss for the visitors.
