Two wins each for Albert Premier ‘C’s Hazel and Ross Young, significantly contributed to the downfall of the hitherto unbeaten leaders of Division Three – Isobel’s Antelopes. Adrian Potts and Ross teamed up to take the crucial doubles and move the hosts into a 4-3 lead. However, Noah van Hoorebeek’s hat-trick leveled the match for the visitors before Hazel restored Albert’s lead with a 3-0 result over Oliver Barnett. Adrian Potts sealed a 6-4 victory for the Darnall based outfit with a 3-1 win against Louis Menzel.

The third and fourth placed teams in the second division met at Crookes in a seesaw encounter which fittingly ended with honours even. Crookes ‘C’ hosted Clifton ‘C’and the visitors led 2-1 and 3-2 thanks to a brace from Chris Thompson and Richard Proctor’s epic 9-11 in the fifth win over Amanda Tolson. Crookes drew level as Alin Lutescu swept aside Jonno Blood and alongside Amanda took the doubles. Clifton achieved parity as Thompson registered his maximum with a narrow victory over John Helliwell, who earlier had beaten Proctor and Blood. Proctor made it 5-4 to the visitors and Amanda levelled the match with a 3-0 win against Jonno Blood.

Mark Seddon registered a maximum and partnered Cliff Glaves to win the doubles during a 7-3 win for Vulcan ‘C’ at Abbeydale in the second tier. Glaves had wins over Rob Childs and Ian Freeston and Brad Firth edged out Childs in a set which went the distance. Kev Tan’s brace provided the sternest resistance for Abbeydale ‘C’.

Scorpions ‘A’ moved into second place in the Premier Division as Harry Saxton and Alex Bland both registered braces and combined to win the doubles against Clifton ‘A’. Adam Szabo edged out Victor Varnai to complete the hosts 6-4 win. The inform Zoltan Kulics completed another hat trick for the visitors.
