The Scarborough & District Table Tennis Association was formed in 1931 and we are affiliated to both Table Tennis England and the YTTA.

In the early 1950s Scarborough hosted the North East of England Open Tournament and often the full England team competed. It was not unusual for a local player to play against the likes of Johnny Leach or Richard Bergman both ex world champions!

The opening of the Scarborough Graham Table Tennis Centre took place on the 17th March 2000. It was opened by Matthew Syed the England number one and Commonwealth Champion. The setting up of the Centre took over eight years of planning and building. One person who was heavily involved in making this happen was John Caton who served for over 35 years as League Secretary, Press Officer and Development Officer.

The league has 24 teams over three Senior Divisions and a Primary Division with four school teams. Coaching takes place on a Tuesday and Wednesday nights with Senior matchplay on Mondays and Thursdays for teams playing at the Centre. The League also has a Veteran team that plays in the Yorkshire League. The Vets Secretary is Mike Fenby who can be contacted on Tel: 01723 512568

New players of all standards are very welcome. For further information please contact our following officials:
