HACKNESS 2 v ROLO 8
Rolo young gun Sam Lowe gave another impressive performance by taking the scalp of the experienced Gerald Smith in five sets. He nearly caused another upset, just losing to James Hodgson 8-11, 11-9, 11-13, 14-16. Both Matty and Martin Lowe bagged trebles and also the doubles to complete Rolos score. Hackness seem to be missing Neil Raine and had only a single from Hodgson and and one from debutant Steve Atkinson who did not look out of place in the top division.
PINDAR 6 v NOMADS 4
Trebles for Macauley Youngson and Nigel Clapham did enough to give Pindar this close win. Nomads successful doubles pairing of John Loftus and Gary Connolly saw them win an entertaining five setter. Both players and team-mate Dave Oxley added singles in Nomads reply.
Scarborough Flooring Division Two
SCALBY TTC 1 v SCALBY OLD BOYS 9
Both Matty Whilde and Alistair Hutchinson stayed unbeaten and had too much quality for the Old Boys against their young rivals. They also took the doubles together in straight sets. Third player Karl Cousins continued his fine run with a brace. Luke Howland scored a consolation rubber for the losers.
WHITBY ENDEAVOUR 5 v EASTFIELD WARRIORS 5
Man of the match performance from Whitbys Barry Davies who scored a treble. Team-mates Graham Cripps and Nick Campbell added singles for a credible draw. Eastfields best player was Paul Lister who won two rubbers and narrowly lost to Davies 9-11, 13-15, 13-15. Lister and his son Daniel also won a vital doubles together by snatching the decider 11-9. Third Player Poitr Ozon won the remaining rubber
Glazetech Division Three
LIBERATORS 6 v ROGUES N JOSHERS 4
Liberators completed their season with a narrow victory over Rogues. Brian Goodliffe and Naomi Edwards each scored a brace and won the doubles together while Kath Edwards added a single. Best player on show was Dominic Grunwell who sailed through all his singles, just dropping the one set. Team-mate Tom Anderson had a great win over Kath Edwards in straight sets.
BINGO McVITIE 4 v DELPHSTONE 6McVitie came up against a strong Delphstone side who included Jon Wanless and Matthew Rutt in their ranks. Both players won trebles to secure the close win. Isaac Grunwell, Jack Louth and Rod Ives all won singles with the latter two claiming a five set doubles.
