Two Scarborough players will be going to the under 10-13 National Table Tennis Championships in Kettering in June. Moke Warburton’s national ranking of 12 in the under 13 girls meant that she was assured a place at the most prestigious event in the English calendar. Sam Lowe though had an anxious wait as his ranking was close to the cut off mark. Luckily when the all-important ranking list came out on the 5th April he had made it by four places being number 43 in the under 12’s age group. Sam was ‘extremely pleased’ to know he was going to make his first appearance at the event.
Both players have already qualified for the National Schools finals by winning their respective events in the regional qualifying tournament held in Harrogate earlier this year. They will both be heading to Wolverhampton on April 29th to compete in the under 13’s events.
