Comets took Colin Pritchard, Peter Whitfield and Jack Pugh to play the team third in the league who are in with a shout of promotion. It wasn’t a good night for Unionist as the reliable Dave Bannon, Jamie Westwater were unfortunately joined by Forfeit who last all their matches to give Comets a 3 game start. Some close games were played and Jack took ends off both Dave and Jamie, Peter took one end off Dave but the Comets best performer was Colin who beat Jamie 3-1 giving Comets a valuable 4 points in their quest to avoid the wooden spoon
Bombers V Mount A
Mount riding high in 3rd position in the league played 3 of their most reliable players, Anth Ainley, Phil Prady and Rod Roberts against bottom club Bombers who had Nigel Coe, Ian McPherson and Kevin Richardson. No results went Bombers way but the match was played in a friendly enjoyable atmosphere with only Ian coming close to taking any points but Mount showed their ability by coming through 10-0 winners.
