Comets V St Gabriels D

Newly promoted from Division 3, Comets must have been expecting a really tough time but they have been putting up some tremendous shows and competed successfully in all their fixtures so far. No victories yet but plenty of encouragement in some close results and this game against one of the fancied teams in Division2 proved no exception.

With the team of Colin Pritchard, Matt Greenwood and Kevin Richardson,- pictured they were up against a strong team of Istvan Soos Craig Hilton and Lynda Todd,  and came away with a close 6-4 defeat. Istvan proved MVP taking all his singles and the doubles with Craig, but with Kevin taking two singles and both Matt and Colin pitching in with one each, it keeps Comets in a solid mid table position at the moment.

East Boldon Bandits v Eagles

A tough game for Eagles with Haydn Williamson, Jack Pugh and Ross Clennell against Jordan Dove, Adam Allsop and Val Lough. Jordan Dove with his dynamic play dominated the game in the singles and the doubles, his toughest opponent being Ross Clennell who matched him in some tremendous rallies with the ball thundering back and forth but Jordan had the edge and took the match. Adam and Val also took 2, but Haydn played some solid resilient games to take the 2 points that Eagles came away with in an 8-2 defeat.
