Eagles v Comets

The score-line of 10-0 suggests a one sided game, but Eagles put up a terrific display against the team that are 2nd  in the league. The youngsters jack Pugh, Haydn Williamson and Luke Dumighan fought for every point, and stayed in every end without losing faith in their ability. Comets with regulars Debbie Irwin, Colin Pritchard and Matt Greenwood won all their games but it was no walkover and they gave great credit to the youngsters for their obdurate display.

Desperadoes v Brandon B

Desperadoes have had a steady season so far and this game must go down as one of their best results. Brandon B are riding high in the league with the dynamic Jamie Lupton, the steady Jamie Lupton and Caroline Lee with her attacking forehand. Desperadoes played Dennis Jennings with his explosive backhand drives, Nigel ‘Stonewall’ Duffin and the improving Paul Salkeld. Jamie was too dominant for the Desperadoes and took MVP with all the singles and the doubles with Paul. However both Nigel and Paul took two games each for Desperadoes, and with Dennis picking up a game the Desperadoes came away with a creditable 5-5 draw.
