Redby v Bombers
Bombers are working hard to catch up on postponed and this was the first of two games this week, playing a very strong Redby team of Malcolm Deneven, Frank Booth and Kenneth Tweedy.  A ding dong battle with Redby starting well and taking a 3-2 lead but with Ian McPherson and Dan Hutchinson winning the double s against Frank Booth and Malcolm Deneven, Bombers caught up and the match was nip and tuck until the final match when Ian McPherson beat Kenneth Tweedy to give a well deserved draw of 5-5 Malcolm Deneven was player of the match winning his three singles but Ian won 2 for the Bombers with Nigel Coe and Dan adding one each plus the doubles victory.
St Johns B v Desperadoes
St Johns must have been expecting an easy ride after their previous 10-0 win against Desperadoes but were in a shock against a well disciplined young side of Erin Harrison, Haydn Williamson and Oliver King. St Johns had the very talented Robert Renton, Chris Wold and Luke Steel. Robert Renton won all his singles but was made to work harder for all of them particularly against Erin who took and end off him and took him to  11-9 in 2 other ends. Erin took both  Luke Steel  and also the vastly experienced Chris Wold in three ends and Haydn chipped in with a good win against Luke Steel. Other games of note was the 5 ender between Haydn and Chris with Haydn playing very steady on the table balls and taking advantage of Chris playing an erratic attacking game but falling in the final end 11-8. Oliver King played really well and surprised his opponents with his explosive attacking drives, but one of the best games was the doubles where Erin and Haydn played tactical slow, slow quick quick slow table tennis to make Robert and Chris really work hard for their 3-1 win. Final result 7-3 to St Johns.
Chargers v St Johns C
St Johns C had Dave Aldridge, Viv Ford and Derek Buller against Anna Kiwitt, Paul Henderson and John  Reid for the Chargers, Anna Kiwitt beat Viv Ford in the first game over 4 ends by playing consistent attacking table tennis. John  Reid was unlucky against the St John’s number 1 Dave Aldridge, taking him to deuce in two games and 8 points in another but Dave’s defensive style was more consistent and he won 3-1. Pauls attacking game  is improving the more games he plays, but he needs more games under his belt which showed as he lost his first two games 3-0 but in the third game against Viv Ford too her to 5 ends before succumbing 11-7. The player of the match was Anna Kiwitt who went through unbeaten in the singles but was taken to 5 ends by Dave in the final match, one end being 17-15. The doubles also went to St Johns with Viv and Dave beating Anna and Paul 3-1 giving St Johns C a 7-3 win and three of the four points on offer .
