To those of you who remember Mick Burnett, the very sad news is that Mick died in Malton Hospital on Friday 29 December, aged 65.
Because of his illness Mick has been unable to play table tennis for the last fifteen years, but he kept in touch with the game, and was particularly interested in the exploits of our Coneysthorpe A and B teams.
He will be remembered as a dedicated and enthusiastic player who enjoyed success for Coneysthorpe in the York & District League Division 2, and particularly when representing Swinton for over thirty years in the Ryedale League, and for a time in the Scarborough & District League.
Mick was an individual whose sportsmanship and decency commanded great respect.
He was much too young to leave this life.
