Week 8, 3 matches to go, and we now have a 2-way tie at the top with only 2 games difference between the two teams. Joint leaders from last week, Rowhedge G (Jamie Morgan & Lawrence Hornsby) suffered their 2nd. successive defeat, 3-2 to Pegasus B (Kevin Turner & Helen Woolnough) which moves the Rowhedge side down to 3rd. and keeps the Pegasus team level at the top with Rowhedge E (Alan Burgess & Chloe Andrews) who put a dent in the Dedham A (Chris Jones & Denise Thompson) challenge, winning 3-2. Chloe playing exceptionally well, staying unbeaten all evening. Gt. Horkesley A (Paul Barnes & Keith Monk) beat Rowhedge F (Martin & Gracie Edwards) 3-2 which still keeps them in contention. Martin, again winning both of his singles. Tollgate A (Daryl Lott & Wudong Liu) lost 4-1 to Rowhedge D (Ronnie Kullick & Tim Leung). The only match result not being 3-2.  Rowhedge C (John Andrews & Thomas Lewis) lost 3-2 to Rowhedge A (Martin Lewis & guest Alan Burgess). Thomas losing the deciding game 22-20 to Alan and thus the match. Pegasus A (Alan Foley & John Morley) are still rooted to the bottom, narrowly losing out to Rowhedge B (Mark Glenister & Pawel Szermo) 3-2. Mark winning both his singles in straight sets.

Next week sees a few interesting matches with joint league leaders Rowhedge E playing Gt. Horkesley A. A win for Gt. Horkesley gets them back in contention whereas a defeat will all but put paid to their challenge.  Pegasus B entertain Rowhedge F where the Pegasus side will need a win to continue their title ambitions. Perhaps Gracie will turn in a performance that her ability deserves, something she has been unable to achieve recently. Rowhedge G versus Dedham A is probably the most intriguing match next week as a defeat for either side will see their challenge fizzle out. Tollgate A play Rowhedge B in a mid table clash with Rowhedge A & D also matched. Bottom placed Pegasus A play Rowhedge C, where a much needed win for Pegasus will put them on equal points.
