Rowhedge placed second in National Junior League

Rowhedge Juniors travelled to Stowupland on Sunday 7th February to compete in day 3 of the National Junior League. The team of Lewis Bardell, Cameron Simpson and Jared Chelski once again gave a good account of themselves with 2 wins and 2 close losses on the day. Against Britannia Sparrowhawks 'A' a 4-2 win was recorded with Jared and Lewis taking two wins each. Cameron was unfortunate to not take a win against Hannah Page losing a close five set encounter 11-13 in the fifth. Kings Lynn were dispatched 6-0, with solid performances from all three players. A close reverse against Rougham 4-5, with Jared taking two wins including a mighty 5 set tussle with Aston Fallows, 11-8, 11-9, 9-11, 7-11, with the final set to Jared 18-16. Lewis and Cameron took a win each. A final match against Stowmarket saw the team record a 2-4 reverse. Lewis and Jared once again taking a win each.

So, a good day for the team, consolidating their second place although they are in a close battle for that position with Rougham. The final day is Sunday 6th March.
