The only contested cup game this week witnessed Y Morfa A overcome an 85-point deficit to overhaul Trinity B. The handicaps indicated that Y Morfa A were favourites in each tie and needed to restrict Trinity B below an average of 31 points. Mark Kanewas able to achieve 39 against Rob Stanway, but the match was lost by an average of about 6 points per game. The division one league cup preliminary round never got going, both ties were conceded. One due to illness and the other because of a missing net.
In the first division, Trinity A have opened a sixteen-point gap at the top, following a 9-1 win against Trinity CEddie Chan took a game from Abhishek Bathula and went on to beat Stuart Dearden 11-9 in the fifth. Stuart was involved in another five-game battle but was able to beat Josh GilmoreOwen Hopwood secured his maximum without dropping a game and teamed up with Abhishek to land the doubles in three straight.
In the second division, Rhyl B remain unbeaten having beat Police B 8-2 and remain three points clear at the top with a game in hand. Peter Roberts became the first player to beat John Hughes, but Steve Lowe remains unbeaten at the top of the individual standings following a five-game win against Peter. Amlwch C lie second following a 6-4 win away to Rhyl CAdam Wood backed up his previous maximum and remains unbeaten when representing Rhyl C. He beat both Caren Ault and Matthew Winnett in five-game thrillers but lost out when paring up with Christine Peak in the doubles. Andy Chambers representing Rhyl C won yet another five-game encounter against Matthew Winnett, but it was not enough. Craig-y-don B continue to progress and are up to third, eight points in arrears with a game in hand. This week they won their derby match beating Craig-y-don A 9-1. Keith Potter flew in from Spain and secured his maximum beating both Bill Williams and John Baston over five games. Ady Waugh only dropped one game in his maximum, but Ged Haresnape was denied his maximum in five by Bill Williams.
