In the first division, Conwy B eased their relegation fears with a 7-3 victory over Police A. Three games stood out on the night, each one a five-game thriller. Sean Lucas beat Roger Lee 11-9 in the decider. Sean then teamed up with Melvyn Booker to snatch a doubles victory from a long way back. The best game was arguably Tony Wan beating Melvyn to nine in the fifth, securing his maximum. The encounter contained a 17-15 third game that seemed would never end. Mark Pugh led Police Ato narrow victory over Rhyl A, he wrapped up his maximum for the loss of only thirty-four points on the night. The key encounter witnessed Steven Freeman beating Barrie Russ 11-7 in the fifth to win the match.
In the second division, the top three were all involved in key fixtures. Police B took Rhyl B’s unbeaten record with an emphatic 9-1 win. Kevin Evans secured his maximum without dropping a game and Peter Roberts only dropped one game during the evening. John Cartwright won two including a fine four-game win at the expense of Norman Stagg. He was denied his maximum by Dave Foster, who secured the Rhyl point again over four games. Police B is now second five points clear of Rhyl B, although they have played one game more. Trinity C is now clear favourites to land the title in beating Denbigh B they have opened a nine-point gap on third placed Rhyl B. Here both Fred Moore and Roy Williams remained unbeaten on the night. The best game however went the way of the visitors, Ian McGillivray beat Josh Gilmore 13-11 in the deciding fifth game.
