As many League members will know by now, Harry Rose, captain of Denbigh B, collapsed during a Handicap Cup match at Nantglyn on Wednesday March 29th, and died shortly afterwards. The funeral will take place at St James Church, Nantglyn, on Monday April 10th at 10:30am.
Harry was a fiercely loyal member of Denbigh Table Tennis Club for many years. For the past few years, he did an excellent job as Club Treasurer, and as Team Captain, as well as performing inventive repairs on various items of club equipment! Many of us will remember with affection his "bah, humbug" approach to the club's various Christmas festivities, which didn't in any way prevent him from taking part in them to the full. His wife, Barbara, tells me that he died doing something he loved, which is what he would have wanted.
We send our sincerest condolences to Barbara and Sarah. Harry will be sorely missed. Kath M-D
