The top three teams in the Premier Division all had 10-0 victories and fourth placed Penkhull also had a good 8-2 win over MESC A. Next Wednesday, Penkhull will take on Bradwell A and with only one point between them, it could be well worth a visit. Down at the bottom are newly promoted MESC B, who visit Kidsgrove A, also on Wednesday and as Kidsgrove are only just above the relegation zone, a win for either side could boost their chances.
At the top of Division 1, Penkhull B were held to a surprise draw by Ball Green G, who only had two players, but Penkhull had had to field a much more depleted team than normal, using two Division two players, and but for the maximum from Rob Rhodes and the three forfeited matches by Ball Green, Penkhull could have come unstuck. The Penkhull C team now move to the top and remain the only team not to have lost a point in this division. Penkhull B are now second, closely followed by Ball Green E and Kidsgrove B. Top match next week sees Penkhull C playing hosts to Kidsgrove B on Thursday and it could be a close match.
In Division 2 MESC E were held to yet another draw by their own F team, with Terry Greer earning a maximum for the F team, forcing the MESC E team down into third spot. But they still share the points at the top of this Division with their own D team and Kidsgrove F. Ball Green K are waiting in the wings with a game in hand and are only 2 points adrift, but all the top teams look to have easier matches next week.
