National Volunteer of the Year Award

Anne Borrowdale Winner

This award recognises Anne's outstanding contribution in developing social table tennis in Oxford, which also includes running the successful new Ping! Oxford 2018 Summer League, and starting new community table tennis sessions at Cheney School, Headington with four new tables funded by MidCounties Coop. With others, Anne has also just launched Oxford Community Table Tennis Club to take forward all these initiatives.

The Award was presented at the Pride of Table Tennis Awards that followed Table Tennis England's National Conference on Saturday 30 March. These Awards recognise the unsung heroes of table tennis. This year, more than 70 nominations were received from the table tennis family, in a range of categories including clubs, leagues, coaches, volunteers and officials. As winner of the Southern Region Volunteer of the Year Award, Anne was automatically considered for the prestigious National Award. A judging panel selected the shortlist, and the winners were revealed at the awards ceremony.
