A team relegated by just 6 points

The A team travelled to Cramlington on Monday to play the most likely 1st Division champions of Peter Smallcombe, Paul Jamieson and Lee Eadington which resulted in a 7-3 loss with each of the Ouston players winning against Paul Jamieson for a point each. Lee and Peter proved too strong on the night and with that win clinched the league title and promotion to the Premier league. this left Ouston A needing 7 points from their final re arranged game on the Friday night against Matfen. The team of Neil, Mark and Tom Fowle playing up for the A team only managed three points to confirm relegation to the second division next winter season. It's been a tough season and despite coming bottom of the league we've not really had any complete whitewashes and have even thrown in the odd giant killing performance but in the end we've just not been able to turn the many five ended games into wins showing a lack of consistency and thats whats needed in that division.

We are determined to push hard again to make it back up into the first division where hopefully we can give a much better account of ourselves.
