Crescent Week 6 news

The “A” team welcomed Stockingford “B” in a key relegation battle and a greater team effort ensured that Crescent walked away with their first victory of the campaign finally winning 6-4 on the night to lift themselves up three places in the league! A fired-up Afzal, and a rejuvenated Shoyeb, and Oliver, who is getting sharper with every game, all chipped in with two but Shoyeb and Olly failed again to win a doubles game. Rob Whittaker proved our nemesis as he took his second successive league hat trick after taking three off NALGO "B" the week before although Afzal was 2-0 up before letting it slip to the old pro and Tony Aubrey played 14 out of 15 available sets without success.

"B" played host to "C" in the first all Crescent clash since 2006/2007, back when the third division contained three Crescent teams with only Ibrahim and Akbar surviving from the original line ups. Farhan led the title chasing “B” team to an 8-2 victory despite the best efforts of Akbar who defeated Asif and Ibi. Soufyaan played well, taking a set off Ibrahim, and Munir got close in all of his games as the "C" team gained some useful experience despite the result.
