Cup and League update 24th February
This week was set aside for the 8 matches to be played in the third round of the Handicap Cup .The only remaining Premier team Byker A lost 5-0 to Div 3 team Cramlington Corinthians which included the new cadet and junior champion Adam Webster along with Jamie Hall and Andrew Matfin. Saints lost to Old England Crocks 2-5 with Colin Robson getting the deciding set with a very close win over 3 games against Ken Greatbatch to clinch victory for the Crocks. In a close fought game against Newton B Joe Hastings and Daniel McManus both won 2 games which added to veteran John Murrel’s one gave victory to Cramlington Jaguars against Rob Laswon, Chas Robertson and Ian Armstrong. Regrettably Cram Reivers conceded their match to the Tigers from the same club. Other teams that went through to the quarter finals are Brandon Anacondas, Cramlington Tigers and NECCA ‘A’ 
Elsewhere some of the teams with outstanding fixtures took the opportunity to play re arranged matches. There were three in the premier division where NECA 'A' took on Title contenders NESLC Eagles and played a draw where Chinese student Chun Yin Yu won all 3 of his matches supported by Ken Lee and Kai Yi. The other match ended in defeat for Springwell B despite winning the first 4 sets of the match against St Chads. Mid Table Cramlington stingers won against a depleted 2 man Newton side 6-4 with Kevin Wilson winning all of his games supported by Iain Wood and Duncan Wraight. Cramlington Dynamos currently at the foot of Division 4 unfortunately lost again 10-0 to Cramlington Ravens with Tim Bryce getting man of the match for the Ravens.
