Update 5th November
Kaine MacDonald of Middlesbrough triumphed in the Junior Boys event at the  Cramlington 2 Star tournament sponsored by aalco when he beat another Cleveland  player Jack Cope in the final.  Both semis were exciting affairs with  MacDonald winning in five games against Keir Morton of Dumfries and Cope doing  likewise against Washington’s Robert Renton. In the final MacDonald took the  first two ends comfortably before Cope pulled one back and came close in the  fourth game but lost out 12 – 10.
Cope’s younger brother overcame the Scottish challengers by defeating James  Forrest of Dunblane in the Semis and then taking the title with a victory over  Morton after being two games down. He also featured in the final of the Under 13  boys  which saw him take on another Scot, Danny Bajwa. This time he went  two up but Bajwa came back strongly to win an exciting match.
The Under 12 Boys title went to Peter Smallcombe of Jarrow with  Darlington’s Jamie Peacock the runner up.
Carl Draper of Bishop Auckland triumphed in the Junior Boys Plate  event  beating Matt Oldfield  in the final.
Amy Webster of Billingham won the Junior Girls round robin contest with  Madelaine Dunn of Thornaby finishing second. Dunn, however won the Cadet Girls  title with Katie Peacock of Darlington the runner up.
Jessica Dunn beat Brandon’s Rebecca Harrison to claim the Junior Girls  Plate.
It was Cup week in the Northumbria League  and the young Cramlington  Magpies team of Richard and Peter Anderson along with Elliott Dorrington made  the most of their handicap starts to pull off a surprise win over North Fire A  team.Springwell and YMCA North Tyneside had a closely fought match with  Springwell edging home 5 – 4 after the YM come from 4 – 2 down to level  matters.
