Urban look to extend lead at top of British League

The turn of the year has been and gone, and with that, the Premier British League begins to heat up.

Three rounds of fixtures in the next five weeks promise to have huge ramifications on all eight clubs involved, with just three points separating top and bottom.

The current league leaders are the unbeaten Urban, who travel to Harlow to face BATTS at the weekend.

Szilard Gyorgy, Daniel Schaffer, Alim Hirji retain their places in the side, but they have been boosted by the acquisition of Hungarian talent Daniel Kosiba, with the world number 379 set to lead the line.

Meanwhile, Batts have name a strong lineup for the contest, with three changes made from the recent defeat for Drumchapel Glasgow.

Malte Moregard will make his second appearance following a perfect debut against Cardiff, Israel international Mathan Simon will subsequently play at two, while Helshan Weerasinghe will make his first appearance of the year in a formidable side, which also features Jack Bennett.

The only other unbeaten side is the defending champions, Drumchapel.

The Scots are on the road to take on Fusion this week, with England star David McBeath expected to lead the line again against a Fusion side likely to feature Lorestas Trumpauskas and Emran Hussain.

After a shaky start to the year, Ormesby have climbed up to second with two consecutive wins.

They will look to extend that streak in Scotland at the weekend when they take on North Ayrshire, who picked up their first win of the season against Cardiff last time out.

Sean Doherty, Chris Main and Martin Johnson will be a part of the quartet, although there is an injury concern over Richard Main, who is a doubt. Should he be unavailable, Andrew Macpherson will make his third appearance of the year.

Wales hosts the final fixture of the round with Cardiff welcoming Ormeau. Paul McCreery and Gavin Maguire are expected to lead the cavalry into battle for the Northern Irish side as they look to bounce back from defeat against Urban last time out.
