This tournament is promoted by the North Herts Table Tennis Association.


Tournament Regulations

1.       Completion and submission of this entry form signifies agreement by the entrant to the conditions of the competition including the variations from the ITTF requirements.

2.       Every entrant must be affiliated as a Player Member to Table Tennis England Ltd, or be a member of another national  association in membership of the ITTF.

3.       Table Tennis England Ltd Tournament  Regulations apply to this tournament including Regulation R (Regulation banning use of certain adhesives and restricting “gluing-up”). ITTF Regulations for International Competition apply except those relating to the matters covered by items marked (X) in this entry form.

4.       All competitors will be required to umpire group matches and at least one match in the knock-out stage of each event entered.

5.       All matches will be the best of five games.  Play throughout will be on a knock-out basis, with the exception of the preliminary rounds in all events, which will be in groups of three or four, depending on entry, with the first two in each group going through to the knock-out rounds.  The final order in the group shall be determined as per ITTF Reg.3.7.5 for group competitions, except where a -player concedes a match he/she shall receive -3 group points. (X)

6.       Competitors in Veterans events must have been born before 1st January 1975

Competitors in Under 21 events  must have been born after 31st December 1993.

7.       Table Tennis England Ltd Appendix “C” to Rules will apply.  Players must not wear shirts or shorts, which are predominantly white.

8.       Competitors will be allowed to practise on tables not in use at the discretion of the referee.

9.       No competitor or official shall engage in betting on players or matches.

10.   Entry to Banded Events is restricted to a player's rating, according to the Table Tennis England  rating list current at the closing date.  Restrictions are as follows:

Men’s Singles Band 1  2451 to 3000              Women’s Singles Band 1  2701 to 3300

Men’s Singles Band 2  1951 to 2450              Women’s Singles Band 2  1901 to 2700

Men’s Singles Band 3  1651 to 1950              Women's Singles Band 3   501 to 1900

Men’s Singles Band 4  1001 to 1650              Women's Singles Band 4    up to 500

Men’s Singles Band 5  501 to 1000

Men’s Singles Band 6   up to 500

11. Players may enter their own band and/or the one above.  The Organising Committee reserves the right to give dummy rating to any entrant who does not appear on the current Table Tennis England rating list.

Open doubles is open all partner combinations.  Players eligible for U21 or veteran events can play Doubles  or  U21/Veteran.  Qualifying rounds for doubles will be played in groups.  If needing a partner, put “Partner Wanted” on entry form.  A partner of a similar standard will be found where required and available.

12 . Should there be insufficient entries in any event, the Referee reserves the right to cancel/merge such event and/or place the entrant in a similar event.

13.   Doping shall not take place either before or during play. 

14.  All competitors must report to the control table on arrival and must not leave the venue without first obtaining the permission of the Referee.

15.   No gluing up is allowed.  The use of rackets prepared with glue containing VOC's will not be allowed.

16  The Referee’s decision shall be final on points of law and on any question arising not provided for in these regulations or in any dispute as to the interpretation thereof.  Decisions on points of fact by an umpire or assistant umpire appointed by the Referee shall be final.

17  No entry will be accepted unless the following Undertaking is signed.  1. To observe the regulations. 

2. To abide by the decisions of the Referee and Organising Committee.  3. To fulfil the schedule of play organised for me unless prevented by circumstances beyond my control and accepted as such by the Referee.

18 .Every player must hold a valid Table Tennis England Ltd Player Licence or have paid the appropriate Single Competition Licence fee with their entry form unless he/she provides proof of being a member of another National Association affiliated to the ITTF and is not affiliated to Table Tennis England.

TOURNAMENT INFORMATION.

1.          Entry Form - All entries must be sent to Val Murdoch, 90 Broadway, Letchworth, Herts to arrive not later than Saturday 31st  January 2014.  Further copies of the entry form can be obtained from the Table Tennis England website.

2.          Playing conditions – Play throughout will be on 8 Joola tables with Joola nets and posts. 3 Star white balls will be used.  Individual courts, size 9m x 5m, will be partially enclosed by surrounds.  The hall has halogen sports hall lighting designed for table tennis and badminton.  The floor is wooden sprung sports hall flooring. Score machines will be used for all matches.  Assistant Umpires will not be appointed.

3.          Refreshments -Limited light refreshments will be available.

4.          Accommodation - Please refer to the Internet under, “Accommodation - Hitchin, Herts.”

5.          Changing -The venue offers full changing and shower facilities.

6.          Car parking - Free parking is available approx. 50 yards before you reach the venue.  It will be fully sign-posted.  Do not park on the double yellow lines outside the Centre.

7.          Draw – The draw will take place on Thursday, 5th February 2015.

8.          Entries – If it is necessary to restrict entries, this will be done on last received first out basis.

9.          Admission – Admission is free to both players and spectators.

10.      Practice – There are no separate practice facilities.  Competitors will be permitted to practise on tables not in use at the discretion of the Referee.

11.      Doping – Doping control tests may take place.

12.      Ranking scheme – Match results will be submitted for inclusion in the ETTA Computer Ranking Scheme.

13.      Notification – Entrants will be notified of the time of their first match on each day by e-mail or if no e-mail, by post provided a DL sized stamped, addressed envelope is included with the entry.

14.      P.A. System - All matches will be announced on a P.A. System.  Players must not leave the Centre without the permission of the Referee.

15.     Please note - In the event of a player withdrawing after the draw has taken place, no fees will be refunded.
