The first competition of 2024 was the Vets singles held at Tarka 4th January 2024.

Two groups of 5 played 3 games to 11 to get to a winner and runner up of each group to progress to the semi finals.  The semi and final to be best of 5 to 11, winner group one vs runner up group two and winner of two vs runner up group one.

Group 1 winner was Kevin Taylor and runner up was Martin Beer who came out top two over Gerald Luscombe, Tim Cooke and John Glass.

Group 2 saw Matthew Thomas come out on top with Martin Eyles close behind ~ both proved too strong for Rob Gale, Chris Lewis and Richard Halliday.

Group 1 winner Kevin overcame Martin Eyles in 3 straight sets and Group 2 winner Matthew just made it passed Martyn Beer over 5 sets one of which Martyn came back from 1~9 down.

Kevin made light work of the final to again win in three straight sets to take the title.

The next competition is the division 2 singles on Thursday 25 January also being held at Tarka.
