Week 19 Report

Week 19 report

Misfits now top the first division by four points, although Torrington A have a game in hand. In division two, Chulmleigh B have a commanding 20 point lead over Holsworthy B. Holsworthy A look like they may put some pressure on the runner-up spot, while Paddlers have a game in hand on the second placed team.

The Misfits trio of Keith le Milliere, Peter Kneil and Martyn Beer had a fairly comfortable evening against Balls of Fury. Keith and Martyn won all three, with Marcus Berry picking up the consolation point, in a 9-1 win.

Martin Eyles was a thorn in the Smugglers' side, as he won all three in Smugglers 7-3 win. Peter Dunstan, Matthew Thomas and Peter Hedge won two each. There were plenty of close games on the night.

The top team in division 2 didn't play this week. Helen Murgatroyd did something which no-else has done this year (I think!) - take a game off David Streak! The trio of Helen and Dave and Owen Salisbury all won two each for Holsworthy A against Holsworthy B, coming out 6-4 victors. Dave Streak did win all three to keep up the 100% record.

Dave Stone led Littleham to a 7-3 win over the other Holsworthy team. His unbeaten run was backed up by two points from Mike Bellew. Despicables beat the Vice by the same 7-3 score. Malc Overson and Richard Nicholls both scored maximum wins – though Simon Wright made Malc Overson fight for it.

The remaining two games were 10-0 wins. Minions beat Dolphins, aided by a good performance from reserve Buddy Wahl. Bill Tregellas and Steve Richardson made up the victorious team. In the final match, Simply Smashing beat Chulmleigh Chiefs, with maximum scores from James Raymont, Jack Thomas and Rhys Eyles.
