Week 22 report

Week 22 report – League 2 round-up

 w/b 26 March 2018

The Division 2 title is looking very secure in the hands of Chulmleigh B.  They now lead on 172 points, 28 points ahead of their nearest rival.  Even with my maths, I think it would be difficult for them to be overtaken! Paddlers now hold second place, with Holsworthy B 5 points behind but with a game in hand.  It looks like second place is between these two teams but I suspect Dave Salisbury may disagree.

It was a good week for the Holsworthy teams.  Holsworthy A put Despicables to the sword.  Dave and Owen Salisbury, along with Nathan Jukes did the damage, though Simon Wright put up a good fight.

Holsworthy B had a very good win over Simply Smashing.  The 7-3 result came courtesy of Dave Streak – can he remain unbeaten all season? and Barry Stearman.  A good result against dangerous opponents.

Holsworthy C beat Chulmleigh Chiefs – also by a 7-3 margin.  Doug Genini, who is scoring well at present, put together another maximum.  Alan Quilter had two good wins.

Chulmleigh B put in the usual consistent evening's work with an 8-2 result over West Buckland.  Dave Gray and Harry Collins were each unbeaten, though a number of the games were close.

Dolphins recorded only their second win of the year, just pipping the Vice 6-4.  Mike Fawcett was the player of the moment winning all three, ably backed up with two wins from Alan Pemberton

Finally, and it grieves me to say it, Paddlers powered past Minions 7-3.  Strong performances from Rob Gale and Tim Cooke were too good on the night for the off-colour Minions.  Paddlers are now in a strong position to challenge for the runners-up spot.
