THE TONY WHATLEY MEMORIAL SHIELD UP AND DOWN DOUBLES EVENT 

The NDTTL are pleased to be able to invite all NDTTL registered players, including reserves, to the Tony Whatley Memorial Shield Up and Down Doubles event to be held on Thursday 3rd January 2019 between 19:00 and 22:00 (competition start time should be 19:30) at the Tarka Tennis Centre in Barnstaple.  This event is in memory of Tony Whatley, who most of you will know as our previous fixture secretary, who sadly passed away earlier this year.

The event is to encourage as many players to participate as possible, of all ages and standards.  All you have to do is turn up on the night and players will be paired together in order of ranking - the number one player with the bottom ranked, number two with second from bottom and so on.  To make things simple this will be done on the night and will be based on TT365 rankings as of the end of 2018.  The competition should be both fun and fair and run on a group basis to ensure plenty of games.  The cost will be £3 per entrant.  Please make every effort for yourself and team members to attend.

The trophy for this event is being very generously donated to the League by Tony's wife Penny and it is hoped that she will present this at our annual presentation evening next year.
