Week 3 Report

Week Three report – w/b 9 October

Early days yet but the Division 1 table has a fairly familiar look. Torrington A are happily in first place while Chulmleigh A are joint bottom, despite a good result this week. Torrington had a 9-1 win over two man Nets and Edges. Spin Doctors had a taste of their own medicine, beaten 9-1 by Smugglers. It could have been a different tale, as 5 matches went to a fifth set – with just one match then going to the Doctors. Peter Hedge and Peter Dunstan won all three of their matches. There was a particularly strong performance from James Raymont, playing up and winning two of his games.Chulmleigh A forced a good draw against Balls of Fury, with Harry Collins, playing up a division,  and Jonathan Taylor winning two of their matches. Balls of Fury were kept in it by Lee Farrant who won all three of his games.

Holsworthy B are the Division 2 early pace setters. This week they beat the Vice 9-1, with David Streak and Barry Stearman each winning their 3 games.  Simply Smashing had a close encounter with Littleham. James Raymont completed a good week with a triple, but Dave Stone and Tom Hill, playing as reserve, both won 2 in a 6-4 win for the smashers.

Ex-minion Malc Overson was truly despicable, winning two games against his former team mates. (I think this could make a good film subject!) Fortunately for Minions Bill Tregellas won his three games in a 7-3 win.

Chulmleigh B were in unforgiving mood against Dolphins, storming to a 10-0 win. Maximum performances came from Harry Collins, Dave Grey and Shaun Clarke.

West Buckland and Paddlers had a good battle, with Paddlers emerging victorious 6-4. Robin Gale won his three but Rob Baker made an impressive 2 and there were plenty of close games in each contest.
