Welcome back to table tennis! We are planning for a normal season ahead but I wanted to reassure you about what we are doing to ensure the safety and wellbeing of our members.
We have decided to keep some covid protocols in place, at least for the time being. These include:
We understand that some of our members may be unsure about returning to play, and hope this information provides reassurance. These measures will be reviewed as government and Table Tennis England guidance dictates and taking into account the views of our members.
We are currently just running our Friday night session which is open to all, no booking required, come and go as you please between 18:30 – 22:00
The Saturday Morning session will recommence on 4th September 9:30 – 11:30 with an Open Session free to all. As part of table Tennis England’s Return to the Table campaign to hopefully temp those who have not yet come back to return with confidence. We will also be targeting those who would like to give TT a try. There will be a chance to battle with the robot, get some one-to-one coaching and have a bit of fun with a friendly bunch!
Club competitions will be taking place throughout September on Friday nights and Saturday mornings.
It has been a difficult 18 months or so, and I’m sure like us you have missed the friendship, shared enthusiasm and competition, as well as the physical and mental benefits which come from playing this great sport and being part of our club.
Those who have already returned to the club have overwhelmingly reported that it has been a positive and welcome experience.
We hope you are reassured and, if you haven’t already returned, we hope to welcome you back soon.
During the next couple of weeks we will be putting together the teams that will represent the club in the local South Devon and Torbay League during the 2021-22 season. If you wish to be involved in the league and have not already let me know please do so to avoid disappointment.
If you would like any more information about any of our activities, please contact me.
