Ashford Hill Ramblers look uustopable in their race to the title and kept their 100% record with the 10-0 defeat of Thatcham C with Paul Rattue, Sam Ricks and Phil Davenport all unbeaten although Davenport was taken to 13-11 in decider against Ray Beeks.
The race is on for second place between 4 teams and Kintbury Titans didn't do their chances any harm with an 8-2 win over Woolton Hill Badgers with a Ray Powell treble and doubles from Glen Freeman and Nat Richardson. Malcolm Cummins won twice for Badgers.
Kintbury JOG are third at present and also had a 8-2 victory over Thatcham Lions with a Adam Pacyne maximum and two each from Mark Wheeler and Dom Cutter. Eddie Haines played well for Lions and had both their wins.
Thatcham A are next with games in hand and this week defeated Upton Ultraviolets 8-2 with Ross Saxby winning three and Richard Rosinski and Tony Brown two each.The match seen between Matt Davies and Saxby was non stop action and Saxby just won 14-12 in decider.
Woolton Hill Eagles are still in the mix and beat two man Thatcham Colts 9-1 with Antony Baker and Lee Calcut unbeaten
This week saw three different leaders with first AWE Fission losing their top spot to Thatcham Scorpions who beat them 8-2 with a stunning treble from Simon Barter who had to come back from two sets down to Bob Hariis and two wins each from Bill Stamatiou and Dean Mustill. Stamatiou also beating Harris in last set.
Thatcham Jeffernauts then headed them both on games difference after winning 7 -3 against Woolton Hill Wombats Tefion Chamberlain got a maximum and Mark Every won twice whilst Johnathan Hopson was best for Wombats with a double
Thatcham Choppers had a good win over Thatcham Spartans by 7-3 with Sourabh Dubey winning all three and Ian Cooney two but their were a lot of close matches with only the doubles being won three straight Celia Hooker was a double winner for Spartans.
Thatcham Scavengers were too strong for two player Ashford Hill Misfits and ran out 8-2 winners with Nial McGrane winning both his games.Wendy Porter won both Misfits matches.
Kintbury Cobras and Woolton Hill Wildcats were tied at 5-5 at the end of their match with Cobra's Ian Wu man of the match being unbeaten . Roger Cherowbrer and Alan Fuller both winning twice for Wildcats Cobra's fifth set doubles win earned them a share of the points
When top met second a close match was forecast but Inkpen Insufferables blew away their nearest rivals 10-0 with Rohit Sengupta , Bob Nash and Tom Kelly all unbeaten David Rawlings did take the first two sets off Kelly but he stormed back to win
3rd and 4th battled out a draw with Thatcham Hawks Ian Dickason and Christine Milne both winning twice and teaming up to win the doubles West Ilsley had double winners with Steve Cobrin and Deryck Crossley. Milne's 11-9 final set victory over Cobrin was match of the night.
Thatcham Tornadoes and Woolton Hill Racketeers also fought out a draw with Tornadoes Jason Agar winning all his matches three straight and getting the doubles win with Michael Slingo For Racketeers both Ron Hill and Panos Stemitsiotis both won twice
Thatcham Spitfires defeated Woolton Hill Woodpeckers 7-3 with maximums from Pat Shaw and John Panting and winning the doubles together
Thatcham A and E are still struggling with two players but put up a plucky performance beforegoing down 6-4 to Thatcham Dragons.Lorraine Mortimer won her three games for A and E .
