WEEK 7 REPORT
Only two points separate the top five teams in this division with Thatcham A and E just ahead on 19 points after beating Thatcham Spitfires 7-3 with a fine maximum from Lorraine Mortimer and two each from Bill Bavister and Mick Buley John Panting won twice for Spitfires.
Inkpen Insufferables also on 19 points won 8-2 against Woolton Hill Racketeers who were a player short Rohit Sengupta and Bob Nash both winning trebles and also taking the doubles together
In third only one point behind are Kintbury Outlaws . David Rawlings was unbeaten for them when they defeated Thatcham Dragons 7-3 with John Tanner and Dave Rees both getting two wins .Kurian Varghese did best for Dragons with a double.
Thatcham Hawks are 4th with 17 points but did not play this week and also on 17 are West Ilsley B who won 8-2 when they entertained Woolton Hill Woodpeckers.Dave Langton had a fine treble and both Lionel Sheppard and Deryck Crossley had two wins each. Woodpeckers Ben Djekic won both Woodpeckers games.
Thatcham Tornadoes picked up their second draw in a row to move off the bottom of the table when they held Thatcham Spartans . There was an excellent hat trick for Abiel Talwar for Tornadoes and two wins each for John Panting and Pat Shaw for Spitfires.
AWE Fission are still top but dropped two points when held by Jeffernauts John McLarty won three for them and Bob Harris two . Andy Jeffery was best for Jeffernauts with two wins including coming back from two sets down to beat George Wilson in the fifth
Jeffernauts had earlier lost 6-4 to Thatcham Scorpions who are second in the table. No player was unbeaten but for Scorpions Bill Stamatiou and Dean Mustill won a couple each as did Tom Lewis for Jeffernauts.
Ian Wu of Kintbury Cobra's had a maximum against Thatcham Spartans but it was not enough to prevent a 6-4 defeat Malcolm Record and Celia Hooker had two wins each for the winners and Spartans won the crucial doubles to win the match.
Kintbury Titans had a comfortable 10-0 win over two man Thatcham Colts with Nat Richardson Tom Watmore and Geirge Wilson winning all their matches and this takes Titans to the top of the table.
Ashford Hill Ramblers are second one point behind but have a game in hand and they got maximum points when defeating JOG 10-0 Sam Ricks Paul Rattue and Steve Murgatroyd had to battle hard but all had maximums
Thatcham A beat Woolton Hill Badgers by 7-3 John Golding won all his games three straight Richard Rosinski also won all three but had a tough match with Andy Moore winning 12-10 in the decider
