WEEK 2 REPORT
Woolton Hill Badgers bounced back after losing 10-0 last week and with a strong team defeated Thatcham Lions 9-1 New signings Malcolm Cummins and Ricky Fettes each had maximums and Andy Moore won twice .
Thatcham A also reversed last weeks result with a 6-4 victory over Thatcham Colts even though Colts Joseph Cormell won all three for Colts including an five set win over Richard Rosinski. Rosinski and John Golding both had two wins and Thatcham A won the doubles in five.
In the other top division match Upton Ulraviolets and Woolton Hill Eagles contested a 5-5 draw with no player winning all three. Uptons Stu Walker and Mike Aistrop both won twice as did Eagles Keith Langley but the closest game was Matt Isherwoods win over Ian langley 15-13 in decider..
In the Woolton Hill derby it was the Wildcats who came out on top against the Wombats winning by 7 to 3.
Alan Fuller and Roger Cherowbrier both had maximums Fuller was taken to five by Johnathan Hopson and Cherowbrier won in the fifth against Robin Burns .
Thatcham Spartans were 4-3 down before Celia Hooker , Malcolm Record and Eric Panting all won their last singles to beat Thatcham Scorpions 6-4 Those three players all won twice as did Simon Barter of Scorpions .
Ian Wu won all three when playing against Jeffernauts for Kintbury Cobra's but Cobra's lost all the other games and went down 7-3 Matt Smith Mark Every and Andy Jeffery all winning twice with Smith and Every also winning the doubles.
AWE only had two players for their match away to Thatcham Scavengers but still managed a draw mainly due to a treble from John McLarty which included a five setter against Spence Harvey. He also teamed up with Bob Harris to take the doubles.
West Ilsley B had a 10-0 win over the youngsters from Thatcham Tornados with Steve Cobrin Dave Langton and Lionel Sheppard all unbeaten . The score does not reflect the play as two games went to five with Michael Sopp only losing to Langton 13-11 in fifth and Michael Slingo beaten by Sheppard 11-7 in the last Three other matches went to four.
Dragons Sajish Pavithran won three and Kurian Vargess two when they defeated Spitfires 6-4 with Pat Shaw getting a double for the losers
Thatcham Hawks got their first win on the board when winning 8-2 against Woolton Hill Racketeers Ian Dickason got a maximum and Dave Norman and Christine Milne won two apiece Panos Stemitsiotis getting both Racketeers victories. Normans game against Ron Hill was the closest with Norman winning 11-9 in the last set.
Racketeers did a bit better when playing Thatcham Spitfires and got a 5-5 draw. John Panting won his three for Spitfires while Hill and Stemitsiotis both won twice for Racketeers
