With an 8-2 victory over Beaumont Nomads C, Nunthorpe A have taken over the lead at the top of Division 1 of the Middlesbrough and District Table Tennis League.

Nunthorpe's win was largely as a result of a hattrick from Dave Williams who's three wins included 11-8 in the decider with victory over Craig Dring.  Phil Webster and Nicky Corking both won two each for Nunthorpe.  One of the closest matches was the doubles when Webster and Corking recovered from 2-0 down to win the doubles against Dring and Sharples at 11-8 in the decider.

Beaumont Nomads A who were top of the table lost their position after playing a 5-5 draw with their own B team.  Mark Walpole was the star of the A team scoring a hattrick all in straight games while Tony Langley won one.  Kevin Linsley and Stephen Cooper won two each for the B team.

Nunthorpe now lead the table with 40 points from 5 games, whilst Beaumont Nomads A are in second place with 39 from 6, Beaumont B are third with 34 from 5, and Ormesby A are in 4th position with 28 from 4.
