Nunthorpe A moved further ahead at the top of Division 1 of the Middlesbrough & District Table Tennis League last week with maximum score 10-0 victory over East Cleveland.

Phil Webster, David Williams and Bob Evans all scored hattricks for Nunthorpe.  Despite the score line the match was closer than the score line suggests.  Evans won two of his matches in the fifth game beating Noel Clerkin at 13-11 in the decider and Huw Williams 11-3 in the fifth.
Both Phil Webster and David Williams were taken to four games by Huw Williams and Noel Clerkin respectively.

Nunthorpe's 10-0 victory takes them two further points ahead of their closest rivals Ormesby A, who dropped two points to their own C Team, despite hat tricks from Thomas Rayner and Dave Ashwell.  George Hill was beaten in straight games by Chris Edwards and 11-3 in the decider by Luke Robinson.

Nunthorpe A lead the table with 50 points from 6 matches, while Ormesby A have 46.  Beaumont Accountancy A & B remain in the frame with 43 and 39 respectively.
