With two 9-1 victories at last week's fixtures, Nunthorpe B have taken an early lead at the top of the Division 2 of the Middlesbrough & District Table Tennis League.

Nunthorpe's first win was against Ormesby H in which David Hildreth and Tony Montague both scored hat tricks.  For Ormesby, Paul Moppett won one set against Trevor Teasdale.  Nunthorpe's second victory was against Ormesby Wheelers, Hildreth and Robert Evans both scored hat tricks while Trevor Teasdale won two losing only to Brian Holloway.  Nunthorpe lead the table having won all their opening three matches and have 28 points. 

The team in second place is Ormesby G with 26 points.  They scored a narrow victory over Beaumont Accountancy Nomads D by 6-4.  Keith Lewis was the star of the Ormesby team scoring a hat trick whilst Nick Miller won two.  Miller came close to a hat trick before losing to Vasilica Preda 12-10 in the decider.  Eileen Robinson won one for Ormesby beating Phil Pugh.  Preda was the best player for Nomads winning two of his sets including the one against Nick Miller.  Beaumont D kept the score line tight by winning the doubles when Preda was joined by Bruce Lowther to beat Keith Lewis and Nick Miller in straight games.

Ormesby Wheelers are in third position with 23 points, but have played four fixtures rather than three, one more than the two teams placed above them.
