With two 8-2 victories Beaumont Nomads A have made a good start to their fixtures in the First Division of the Middlesbrough & District Table Tennis League.
Beaumont opened with a win against Nunthorpe A with hat tricks from Tony Langley and Mark Walpole. Nunthorpe's Phil Webster and David Williams won one each at the expense of Peter Sermon. Langley's win over William's was narrow at 11-9 in the decider while Webster had a close match with Sermon at 11-8 in the fifth.
Nunthorpe's second win was against their own C team by 8-2 with hat tricks from Tony Langley and Stuart Park. Craig Dring won the only singles for the C team at the expense of Peter Abell, although Dring went close with Park at 11-8 in the fifth.
Ormesby A opened with an 8-2 victory over their own E team with hattricks from Dave Ashwell and Jack Cope. Katie Bates won one for Ormesby but fell short against Tom Hand and Chris Gunn.
Ormesby C also made a good start to defeat the club's own E team by 8-2 with hat tricks from Luke Robinson and David Noutch. John McCullough and Chris Gunn won one each against Alex Wilson.
Beaumont Nomads B started well with a 7-3 victory over East Cleveland with a hat trick from Kevin Linsley and two from Ian Plummer. Jimmy Scope won two for East Cleveland. Beaumont B also defeated their own C team by 8-2 with hat tricks from Linsley and Stephen Baines while Chris Dring won both the matches for the C team.
Nunthorpe A after losing their opening match to Beaumont recovered to beat Ormesby D by 10-0 with hat tricks from Phil Webster, David Williams and Nicky Corking.
Ormesby B opened their campaign with a win against Ormesby C by 7 sets to 3 despite a hat trick by Luke Robinson. Michael Young, Ryan Nassau and Adam Ridley all won 2.
