Beaumont Accountancy Nomads closed the gap at the top of the 1st Division of the Middlesbrough and District Table Tennis League when they defeated the leaders Swerve A 8-2 in last weeks fixtures.  Anthony Phoenix and Mark Walpole were both unbeaten for Beaumont. 

Sam Bailey and Jemal Mohamed both won one set with wins against Steven Baines.  The closet match was with Anthony Phoenix’s victory over Sam Bailey which was 11-6 in the decider.

Swerve B kept their interests in the Championship race with a 7-3 victory over Ormesby B when Alex Garlick and Andy Wilson both scored hat tricks.  Karl Shaw, Gary Whyman and Lewis Cadden all won one for Ormesby. 

These results narrow the gap at the top of the division between Swerve A and Swerve B to just 2 points, although Swerve A has a match in hand. 

Beaumont are now in third place with 10 points behind the leaders.
