With a 10-0 victory over Nunthorpe B, Beaumont Accountancy Nomads A have moved to the top of the 1st Division of the Middlesbrough and District Table Tennis League on their visit to Nunthorpe.  Their victory was as comfortable as the score line suggests with all of their players Anthony Phoenix, Stephen Cooper and Mark Walpole scoring hat tricks in straight games.  

One of their main contenders Swerve A won a very narrow victory against Ormesby B by 6-4.  Alex Ward was the star of the match for Swerve scoring a hat trick whilst Kieran Wardell won two of his matches and then combined with Ward to win the Doubles.  The hat trick was won in straight games.  Wardell opened with a narrow victory over Dave Ashwell at 13-11 in the deciding game.   For Ormesby Michael Young was the best player winning two of his sets which included a 3-1 victory against Wardell.  Young also had a tight match against Holly Williams where the Ormesby player won 11-8 in the decider.  The other two sets were won by David Ashwell and Gary Whyman who both defeated Holly Williams.   

These results put Beaumont at the top of the table with 30 points from their four matches played so far whilst Ormesby A are in second place with 29 points.  Swerve A remain in strong contention with 21 points from three.  Also in the 1st Division Swerve C defeated Ormesby C by 7-3 with a hat trick from Stephen Brunskill, and Stuart Park won two.  For Ormesby Luke Robinson was the best player to win two of his sets which included a win against Park by 3-1.
