Keith Lewis and Michael McMahon both scored one win for Ormesby defeating Stephen Tuck, who won one for Swerve. The closest match was the Doubles when Tuck and Mahmood beat Lewis and McMahon at 11-8 in the decider.

Swerve lead the table with 16 points from two matches whilst Ormesby F are in second place with 15 points.

The opening fixtures for the new season was played in the Middlesbrough and District Table Tennis League last weekend producing some unexpected results.

The all Junior Ormesby K team clinched the Middlesbrough & District Table Tennis League Handicap Cup competition last week when they defeated East Cleveland in the final 5-1.

Beaumont Accountancy Nomads B have secured the place at the top of the lower half of Division 1 in the Middlesbrough and District Table Tennis League by playing a 5-5 draw with Nunthorpe A in last week’s fixtures.

Beaumont Accountancy Nomads closed the gap at the top of the 1st Division of the Middlesbrough and District Table Tennis League when they defeated the leaders Swerve A 8-2 in last weeks fixtures.  Anthony Phoenix and Mark Walpole were both unbeaten for Beaumont.

Swerve A moved a step nearer to clinching the First Division title of the Middlesbrough and District Table Tennis League last week when they defeated Ormesby A 7-3.

Victory for Swerve D over Ormesby F in the Second Division of the Middlesbrough and District Table Tennis League has almost certainly turned the Championship battle into a two-horse race between Beaumont Nomads C and Nunthorpe B.

Swerve B’s chances of closing the gap at the top of Division 1 of the Middlesbrough and District Table Tennis League took a knock last week, when they were defeated by the Ormesby C team by 6-4.
