Members Letter October 2015

Dear Member,

Welcome to the new season of the Mid-Cornwall Table Tennis League.  In spite of a small drop in the number of teams again, your committee has managed to keep two divisions which seems to be preferred by players.  Division One has six teams who will play each other three times, but as Division Two unfortunately only has four teams , they will play each other four times.   If you have any better ideas for next season, please bring them to the AGM.

There are no changes to the rules of the game this season, but the new ball is now ready and will be used by this league from the start of the season.  Should you wish to buy balls for your personal use, they come in boxes of six and are £6 per box – a good price I feel.  You can either get them from me or Bob House.   I gather they are also available from the table tennis sports dealers.

Match cards go to Allan Brooks this season and your matches only count if you are an Affiliated Playing Member of Table Tennis England.  If you are not, any matches you play and win will not count for your team.  We are using Table Tennis 365, which is a computerised league system and it only recognises registered players.  You have been warned!  I should like to thank Allan along with Martin Adams for all the work that they have put in setting up our system which you will be able to access to find out how you and/or your team are getting on in the league.  You will be informed more about this later.

Please try NOT to postpone matches.  If you are a player short either bring someone in from a lower team or from one team above.

I look forward to meeting you all during the season and wish you “Good Ping” for another year.

Yours in sport – Di Jermyn (Hon. Gen. Sec.)
