At this very early stage of the season, Cliffe Woods 2 lead Div 1 after a 2nd successive win. They put out their strongest line-up (Peter Mortley, Alan Bridle and Dave Lewis) and duly thumped Boxley 1 without reply. The away side did win some legs, and Paul Paulding stepping up from Div 2, performed with credit taking legs off both Mortley and Bridle. Regulars Lyndon Gurr and Barry Roles tried in vain and although Roles did take Bridle to a 5th leg, the former Premier player came through unscathed in singles and Doubles(with Mortley). Dave Lewis claimed the Player of the Match only dropping the one leg.
