This match was a personal triumph for Malcolm Kay of Hector who completed a treble against Keith Chamberlain, Bob Mahon and Brendon Moodley.  Both Keith and Bob went on to beat Malcolms teammates Roger Chipperfield and Liu Yun Guo and Brendon also beat Liu Yun Guo but lost to Roger.  It was left to Malcolm and Roger to win an enthralling doubles match 11-6 in the fifth to ensure the draw and send everyone out into the snow fairly happy.
