MATCH WEEK 12 Results 

Division 1

1.       Zygabyte B beat Rhinos – 10-0 – P.O.M – Amber Zygadlo

2.       Jacksdale B beat Ravenshead Riots – 7-3 - P.O.M – Kalpesh Bhatt

3.       Jacksdale C Drew Jacksdale A – 5-5 – P.O.M – Zak Melrose

4.       Zygabyte B beat Boothys – 9-1 – P.O.M – Amber Zygadlo 

Amber Zygadlo played up for the Zygabyte A team and stole the show and winning the POM award in a 10-0 victory over Ravenshead Rhinos.

Up until the 8th game all wins were straight forward 3-0 victories, however Rich Robinson of the Rhinos took a 2-0 lead against Bob Hume and looked good for the victory, but Bob found some reserve and hit back and eventually winning 3-2.

Zygabyte A remain unbeaten with 8 wins out of 8, and Rhinos remain 2nd to bottom of the league 

The battle for second took a big swing this week when Jacksdale B beat Ravenshead Riots 7-3 to take a 10 point lead over them, however Riots do have 1 game in hand, so could bring it level with a whitewash.

This is the second time they have met with Riots winning the first game 8-2 so a big result for Jacksdale, also Jacksdale have now played the Top Club and there nearest rivals twice now so will not meet them again, so look strong favourites for the second spot.

The night started with a win by Ker-wei Chien over Simon Chatterton 11-9, 12-10 and then a marathon 19-17 to close out the end. Kerry Harvey gave resistance for Riots winning 2  out of her 3 and combining with Simon in a doubles victory but the rest of the night belonged to Jacksdale B and in particular POM Kalpesh Bhatt who won all his singles on the night.

Jacksdale C managed a 5-5 draw with their club A team Jacksdale A, which keeps Jacksdale C in 4th place 7 points above Jacksdale A. After some tough seasons in the past Jacksdale C really showing solid improvement this year.

It was Zak Melrose for Jacksdale A however who was POM being the only person on the night to win all his 3 singles games and also combined in the doubles with Malc Allsop to salvage the draw.

Jonathan Heath for Jackdale A was unlucky to come away with no wins, as he took two game to the 5th set and losing out, one game in particular against John Fordham was the game of the night with the in the first 4 sets both trading a 12-10 & 13-11 victories, so it couldn't be closer however Fordham managed to see off the challenge with an 11-5 victory in the 5th.

Zygabyte B secured a comfortable 9-1 win over bottom of the table Boothy's. Player of the Match Amber Zygadlo and Kev Cope both scored maximums for the home side with Stuart Chadwick gaining the visitors sole success.

This is Amber’s second POM award this week as she also won 1 when she played up for Zygabyte A earlier in the week.

Division 2

1.       Snipers beat Rebels – 9-1 – P.O.M – Erlands Skels

2.       Hucknall 50+ beat Ravens – 7-3 -  P.O.M – Andy King

3.       Angels beat Jacksdale D – 7-3 – P.O.M – Adrian Smith

4.       River Maun beat Spin Doctors – 7-3 – P.O.M – River Maun

Erlands once again was POM for the Snipers of St Joseph’s winning all his games 3-0 in a 9-1 victory over Ravenshead Rebels. Backed up by Jim Westwood who also won all 3 and Ben Swain who won 2 in the only defeat for the Snipers on the night at the hands of Laurence Taylor.

This result keeps the Snipers in 2nd and only 5 points off the top with a game in hand and puts a 5 point gap from the 3rd place team also.

All the singles games were 3-0 results except When Alan Kenyon came back from 2-0 against Jim Westwood to level at 2-2 with some great attacking play by both players, but Jim composed himself and took the 5th.

Ravenshead Angels remain on top with a 7-3 victory of Jacksdale D, due to a last minute injury pull out Jacksdale D only turned up with 2 men Hari Rampall & John Smith. Both who beat Maggie Burrows and then beat Andy Brown & Adrian Smith in a fantastic doubles battle winning 5th end decider 12-10, after they both traded 13-11 victories in the previous 2 ends.

Adrian Smith was POM but he and Andy Brown once again were unbeaten in the singles.

Hucknall 50+ solidified the 3rd place with a 7-3 victory over Boothys Ravens, with Andy King with another 100% record and POM, backed up with John Banner (2), Roy Drew (1) and a doubles victory. Stan Zygadlo (2) and Andy Bunting (1) earned the points for the Ravens.

River Maun start 2016 with a 7-3 victory over bottom club Spin Doctors which moves them to Joint 4th.

Mark Sansom was the POM winning all his 3 singles 3-0 and also combining in the Doubles with Michael Rand to win that 3-0 also. In addition Michael Matushenko won 2 and Michael Rand 1.

The Points for Spin Doctors came from 2 wins from Ralph Rodda and 1 from Graham Stent.

The game of the night was undoubtedly the game between Michael Rand and Graham Stent, Michael won the first at a canter with an 11-2 win, but after that Graham Stent hit back with 2 very close wins 13-11 & 14-12. Michael then levelled up with his own 14-12 win. So then the last game also went to a nail biting 10-10 but Graham managed to push over the line and win 12-10 in a cracking game.
