Ravenshead Riots handed out Jacksdale C's first defeat of the season with a 7-3 victory making it 3 wins out of 4 at the start of the Season.

Simon Chatterton was the POM winning all his 3 games and partnering Andy Thorley in the Doubles victory also. Kerry Harvey also won 2 with Andy Thorley 1

Jacksdale C's best player was Russ Stevens who won 2 of their 3 points with Mick Pinegar winning the other.

Russ Stevens & Andy Thorley played out the only 5 end match with Russ coming from 2-1 down winning the last two 11-5, 11-8

Russ also beat Kerry Harvey who has been the Riots star performer so far this season, although he won 3-0 the scores were very close with Russ winning 11-6, 16-14, 14-12

A repeat to last week for Jacksdale A, and they still remain the only team without a win, David Greaves once again won all his matches and claimed POM, however these 3 wins were the only 3 points for the team on the night as the leaders Zygabyte A won 7-3, with Dean Brookes, Joe Zygadlo & Bob Hume all winning 2 and Dean & Bob combining in the Doubles.

However with David beating Dean in the first rubber of the night 3-1, this was Deans first loss of the season, but it was very close with all 3 games David won being won by 12-10.

David remains unbeaten in his 2 matches he has played so far.

Ker-Wei Chien made his Mansfield League debut moving to the area from Colchester and helped his new team Jacksdale B to a convincing 10-0 win over Boothys.

Kalpesh Bhatt was Player of the Match and also supported well by Russ Webster, Kalpesh & Ker-wei also paired in the doubles.

This win puts Jacksdale B up to 2nd place in the league and keeps Boothys at the bottom, another tough match for Boothys with only Stuart Chadwick winning ends losing 2 of his games 3-1, all the other 8 matches were 3-0.

Well done Ker-Wei and welcome to the Mansfield League.

Zygbayte B and Ravenshead Rhinos played out a 5-5 draw the first Division 1 draw of the season.

Kevin Cope once again starred for the home team, being the only player to win all his matches on the night.

The Rhinos went 5-2 and were looking good for their 2nd Victory of the Season. But then Kevin played Steve Scott both unbeaten until this clash on the night and Kevin managed to win 3-1, and then David Hodgkin who had not won a game until his match with Richard Robinson also won 3-1.

So Rhinos were now 5-4 up going into the doubles and the momentum stayed with Zygabyte B as they won the doubles 3-0 to salvage a draw.

4.       Rebels vs Jacksdale D – POSTPONED TO 4TH November

After Friday's shock loss for the Angels the Division 2 leaders, they made amends with a whitewash against the Spin Doctors 10-0

Andy Brown ( POM ) looked unstoppable has he won all his games 3-0 and along with Adrian Smith so far this season they both have 100% records.

Maggie Burrows the Captain backed the 2 guys up well also winning all her games 3-1.

Adrian found the night slightly more difficult with both Andy Hughes & Graham Stent both going 2-1 up on Adrian, but on both occasions Adrian pulled it back to win 10-0.

After 4 Games the Angels pull 6 points clear, and are setting the early pace for Division 2

Snipers of St Joseph’s convincingly beat Boothys Ravens 9-1; the Ravens surprisingly still to win a game this season.

Ravens went 1-0 up when Andy Bunting beat Erlands Skels 3-2 in the 1st game, but this was as good as it got for the Ravens has the Snipers dominated led by Tony Swain who only lost 1 end all night, Jim Westwood won all his games 3-1 and Erlands winning his other two 3-2 & 3-0.

In the doubles  Andy & Chris Tilstone took a 2-0 lead over Jim & Tony, but with every point counting towards the league the Snipers duo dug in and took the match winning the next three 11-7, 11-3 , 11-2  and take the match 9-1.

Hucknall 50+ beat River Maun 10-0 to move 2nd in the table just 3 points behind the leaders.

Dick Johnson (POM), Andy King (who remains unbeaten for the season), & Roy Drew all were dominant throughout the night.

The first 2 matches were very close with Roy beating Mark Sansom 11-9 in the 5th and then Andy King beating Michael Jarunek 11-6 in the 5th, however the next 4 games were won 3-0 and the last 4 ( incl the doubles ) 3-1.

Mark Sansom will be disappointed after only losing his 1st game last week of the season, to come away with nothing.
