MATCH WEEK 10 Results

 

Division 1 Cup

1. Ravenshead Rascals bt Jacksdale B – 8-1 -  P.O.M –  Martin Dean

2. Zygabyte A  bt  Zygabyte B – 8-1  -  P.O.M –  Bob Hume

3. Ravenshead Riots vs Jacksdale A –  Postponed

 

The 2 unbeaten teams in the Div 1 cup Ravenshead Rascals & Zygabyte A, remained unbeaten with both winning their matches 8-1 against  Jacksdale B & Zygabyte B respectively.

Martin Dean who as played 3 of the 4 matches for Rascals in the Div 1 Cup, as managed to get Player of the Match in all 3 with another convincing performance in both his singles & doubles.

Bob Hume for Zygabyte A won his first player of the match of the season

Division 2

1. Zygabyte Old Bats drew New Cross Snipers  -  5-5  - P.O.M – Nigel Stent

2. Ravenshead Ravens  bt  Ravenshead Rhinos  -  6-4  -  P.O.M – Steve Scott

3. Ravenshead Rebels drew Jacksdale D – 5-5  -  P.O.M –  Bill Davison

4. Boothys vs Ravenshead Angels – Postponed

The first draw of the season in Division 2 saw last years 2 newcomers  to the league Zyagbyte Old Bats & New Cross Snipers, battle out a draw in a good game. Nigel Stent for the 2nd time in 4 days very nearly lost his 100% record when Tony Swain went 2 -0 up, however Nigel's experience managed to overcome this and managed to maintain his record with 18 wins from 18. Erlands Skels made his Mansfield League Debut, and made a strong start winning 2 of his 3 single matches.

Ravenshead Rhinos the remaining undefeated division 2 team, before this week match against Boothys Ravens lost their first match with the Ravens coming out on top 6-4. Steve Scott for the Rhinos won his 4th Player of the Match of the season but it wasn’t enough as the Ravens won the doubles to win the match 6-4. This result meant at the Boothys remained on top over Christmas despite their match being postponed.

88 year old Bill Davison rolled back the years and won Player of the match winning 2 out of 3 of his singles and also winning in the doubles as Ravenshead Rebels drew 5-5 with Jacksdale D. Bill who is also president of the Mansfield & District Table Tennis League was playing in his 1st match of the season.

This was the 2nd Draw of the night after not seeing one all season in division 2.
