Division 1 Report

In Paperstation Malvern League Division 1 Broadheath Belters title hopes were damaged by a 7-3 defeat against YMCA Pterodactyls thanks to another superb performance by Svilen Andreev who won his 3 matches including another victory over Michael Siket. He was supported by Dave White with 2 and Wayne Chopping with 1.  Michael Siket replied with 2 for Belters and Brett Brining 1. CSSC Ramblers kept up their challenge with a 6-4 win against Manor Park Travellers despite a maximum from Craig Preece, Chris Hewitt and Alan Salisbury with 2 and Graham Thompson 1 and success in the doubles earned the win for Ramblers, Toby Wren earned Travellers their victory against Graham. In the key relegation clash Ledbury Rovers shared the points with Pumas after a 5-5 draw. Ady Marshall was in excellent form for Rovers with 3 wins supported by Bryan Farr and James Dance with 1 each.  Dave Hallam with 2 and Geoff Woodward and Jon Dyke replied with single wins for Pumas with Jon and Geoff also winning the key doubles against Ady and Bryan. Ledbury Collection defeated Ledbury Lions 7-3 thanks to maximums from  Patryk Kovacz and Nigel Foreshew who also combined to take the doubles. Steve Meredith, Mike Morgan and Brian Kitchener replied with single wins for Lions who will be looking over their shoulders nervously going into the final round of matches.

Division 2 Report

Title Winners Crackpots E maintained their 100% record with a 7-3 victory against Wanderers  thanks to a maximum from  Matt Hodges supported by Dave Steen with 2 and Anthea Knight with 1. Wanderers  replied with 2 wins for Stan Mason and 1 for Charlie Burford. YMCA Vulcans defeated CSSC Nomads 8-2 with maximums from John Cawthra and Manuel Peral who also combined to take the doubles and 1 for Beryl Shammon. Nomads replied with wins from Dave Hayes and Adrian Fray.   Tornados defeated Crackpots D 7-3 with a maximum from Ben Meredith and 2 wins each for Ethan Webb and Dominic Weston, James Palmer, Stewart  Moss and Bob Rhodes replied for Crackpots.  

Division 3 Report

Bromyard Hopefuls maintained their title challenge with an 8-2 win against Poolbrook Juniors  thanks to maximums from Ed Tinton and Brian Kitchener supported by David Gwilt with 2, James Glazzard replied with 1 for Juniors and combined  with his dad Steve to take the doubles. Crackpots B earned a rare victory with a 6-4 win against Poolbrook Panthers thanks to 3wins for Ted Cates , 2 for Alan Forsdike and 1 for Alan Eldridge, Ewan Gear 2 and Judith Tyson 1 replied for Panthers. X Police kept up the pressure on Bromyard with wins against Poolbrook Rangers and Devils both by 6-4. Steve Mulkas maximum against Pumas including a 16-14 final set victory against Devils’  Paul Lythgoe  could yet prove crucial as Bromyard Hopefuls await in their final fixture. Rob Weston and Barry Barwick  performed well for Rangers  with 2 wins each but were unable to prevent Steve Mulka earning another maximum. Devils victories came from Paul Lythgoe with 2 and  Pete Harding and Liz Hallam with 1 each.  Abbeydowne drew 5-5 with Manor Park Crackpots  with Neils Erikksson and Chris Burrows taking 2 wins each and  Len Hitchman 1 , Stephen Lindner with 3 and Ed Palmer 1 and victory in the doubles earned a share of the points for Crackpots
