Division 1 Report.

In Paperstation Malvern League Division 1 Broadheath Belters began 2014 well with 10-0 and 7-3 wins respectively against Crackpots E and Manor Park Pumas respectively thanks to 2 maximums from Brett Brining and Ben Bennett and 1 for John Stalker.  Geoff Woodward, Jon Dyke and Dave Hallam managed wins against John for Pumas.  Ledbury Collection maintained their title challenge with a 9-1 victory against Manor Park Express with 3 wins each for Harry Jutle and Nigel Foreshew and 2 for Trevor Davies, Pete Griffiths replied for Express. Ramblers enjoyed a narrow 6-4 victory against Pterodactyls despite a superb maximum from Wayne Chopping without dropping a set. However, Chris Hewitt and Alan Salisbury won 2 matches each and Graham Thompson 1. Chris and Graham also won the crucial doubles against Wayne and Graham Collier. Ian Bell won Pterodactyls other match.

 

Division 2 Report.

Manor Park Rangers were in fine form against Poolbrook Wanderers winning 8-2 with 3 wins from Matt Lang and 2 wins each from Richard Cullis and Nick Haggar. Dave Bradley and Stan Mason replied for Wanderers with wins against Richard and Nick respectively.  Wanderers were also beaten 8-2 by Upton Floods thanks to maximums from Roger Davies and Pete Nash who also won the doubles against Charlie Burford and Dave Bradley.  Charlie and Dave replied for Wanderers with singles wins against Peter Quy.  In a busy week for Wanderers they were also beaten 8-2 by Poolbrook Dynamos for whom John Phillips won 3 and Tom James and Geoff Burford 2 each. Charlie Burford replied with 2 wins for Wanderers. Dynamos went on to draw 5-5 with YMCA Vulcans with 2 wins each for John Phillips and Geoff Burford and 1 for Tom James.  Vulcans salvaged a draw with a maximum from Richard Bennett and a Malvern League debut victory for Ray Griffiths. Ray and Richard also won the crucial doubles against Tom and Geoff.   

 

Division 3 Report.

Crackpots D went to the top of the table with a 10-0 whitewash of Abbeydowne with maximums from Frank Lane, James Palmer and Bob Rhodes. However, Abbeydowne recovered with an 8-2 victory against Abbey College with 3 wins from Chris Burrows and Niels Eriksson and a single victory from Mike Angel.  Zlatin Genchev and Azraq Wasel replied with wins for Abbey College.  Abbey College went on to win 6-4 against Tekkers thanks to 2 wins from Zlatin and Ereyitomi Dede and 1 from Djumaev Akhmed.  Ben Meredith again won his 3 sets for Tekkers with James Meredith also contributing a victory.
