Division 1 Report.

In Paperstation Malvern League Division 1 Broadheath Belters returned to form with a 9-1 victory against Ledbury Lions thanks to maximums from Brett Brining and Ben Bennett and 2 wins from John Stalker. Richard Smith replied for Lions winning in 5 sets against John, Patryk Kovacz was unlucky to lose narrowly in the 5th set to both Brett and Ben. Patryk had more success against Manor Park Pumas winning 2 matches and Jim Ahern 1 but this was still not enough to avoid a 7-3 defeat. Geoff Woodward was again unbeaten for Pumas with Dave Hallam contributing 2 and Jon Dyke 1. Geoff and Dave also took the doubles against Patryk and Mike Morgan. Pterodactyls defeated Manor Park Express 6-4 thanks to a maximum from Wayne Chopping and single wins for Graham Collier and Ian Bell. Graham and Ian also combined to take the crucial doubles against Pete Griffiths and Dale Dickenson. Dale and Pete won 2 singles each for Express.

 

Division 2 Report.

Manor Park Rangers were in fine form against X Police wining 10-0 with maximums from Matt Lang, Richard Cullis and Lawrence Dodd. Promotion challengers Scuttling Gang kept up the pressure with a whitewash of Poolbrook Wanderers with 3 wins from Bill Smith, Chris Field and Richard McKenna. Dynamos defeated Upton 6-4 thanks to a maximum from John Phillips, 2 wins for Geoff Burford and 1 for Tom James. Pete Nash 2 and Mark Davies 1 replied for Upton with Pete also combining with Roger Davies to win the doubles against Geoff and Tom. Manuel Peral was in fine form for YMCA Vulcans winning his 3 games in a 7-3 victory against Nomads, Beryl Shammon and John Cawthra also contributed 2 games for Vulcans. Dave Hayes 2 replied for Nomads, Dave also combined with Tony Hughes to earn a fine 5 set victory against John and Manuel.   

 

Division 3 Report.

Crackpots D enjoyed a successful week with a 6-4 victory against promotion rivals Devils thanks to another maximum from Frank Lane ably supported by James Palmer 2. Frank and James also combined to take the doubles against Paul Lythgoe and Liz Hallam. Paul 2, Liz and Denis Chetwood replied for Devils. Crackpots D followed this up with a 7-3 defeat of Poolbrook Panthers where Bob Rhodes replaced Frank and earned 3 wins and the doubles with James, James also took 2 singles wins and Tim Dolding 1. Ewan Gear 2 and David Hunt, on his league debut, 1 replied for Panthers.   The promotion clash between Tornados and Crackpots B resulted in a narrow 6-4 win for the former despite a maximum from Matt White. Andy Banks and Dominic Weston 2 and Zoe Snee 1 earned the victory for Tornados, the crucial doubles being taken by Andy and Dominic against Matt and Alan Forsdike. Stan Ginn earned Crackpots other victory.
