Match Report

So Employment prove to be a bogey team for Castaways for the second time in the season with the same score as the previous encounter.

Jo9hnny was first up in probably the pivotal game of the evening when from two legs up against Paul he lost in three.

Pete came to the table against Anita and managed a somewhat routine three straight win.

Neil then played Chris and from two legs up and 10-8 in the third lost that and the fourth to set up a nervy fifth, but he managed to win it., 2-1.

Pete then played Paul and another three-straight win, 3-1.

Johnny then faced Chris and his night got a little worse as Chris’s got better as the games went 0-1, 1-1, 1-2, 2-2, then inevitably went to a deuce but finishing 13-11 to Chris, 3-2.

Neil then managed a three-straight win over Anita, 4-2.

Pete then had a four-leg win over Chris. Got a little nervy in the fourth, but Pete managed to win to 11.
So 5-2 and Castaways unbeaten record is safe.

The usual epic battle between Neil and Paul then followed and although it was three-straight to Paul, the 14-12 first and second legs are evidence of how close it was. 5-3.

Anita then faced a disconsolate Johnny and took full advantage winning in four, great win and 5-4.

The doubles would decide the match and the world’s worst doubles pair were forced to take on Paul and Anita. For once, although they dropped a leg, Neil and Pete came good and won in four, a 6-4 win, exactly the same result as the first half, even if it was achieved slightly differently and without Jason’s opposition this time.

Serious damage to Castaways chances of retaining their title, possibly but twists and turns to come yet.
